COVID

As we prepare for the beginning of the school year on Wednesday, it is important for us to consider how we work together as an educational community to ensure that we uphold our responsibility to one another in keeping our students and staff healthy and in school.   The CDC released updated guidance at the end of last week, and we expect that guidance to result in updated recommendations from Marin County Public Health very soon.  In the meantime, it is important for us to support each other by following these essential practices for mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

  • If you have any symptoms, you need to stay home.  Do not return to school until your symptoms have subsided and you have a negative COVID test.

  • If you contract COVID 19, you may return to school on Day 5, as long as you have a negative test result and are no longer symptomatic.  If you continue to test positive, you may return to school on Day 10, regardless of test result.  Masks should be worn indoors for 10 days after return.

  • In addition, masks should be worn indoors during times of high transmission.  While we are not mandating mask wearing indoors at this time, MCPH ahd SUSD does strongly recommend it for your safety and the safety of others.

  • All school sites and the district office are well stocked with At-Home Antigen Tests.  If you need a test, please contact your school site and they can provide one for you.  It is recommended that all families have at least two tests at home at all times.  In addition, you can have free tests sent directly to your home by requesting them here:  https://www.covid.gov/tests

We will continue to work together to support each other to ensure the health and safety of our community.  As we continue to evolve as a society living with COVID, our public health leaders continue to bend their recommendations towards the expectation that everyone of us shares the responsibility for keeping our community safe.  If we honor that expectation, by following these guidelines, then we can maintain the opportunity for all of the wonderful experiences that make Shoreline so special.

Here’s to cooperation in health for the 2022-23 school year!
